From 1997 to 2014, I played trombone with the Frederick Symphony Orchestra. In 2015, I retired from playing, and began recording their performances. Most of the concerts take place at the Jack B. Kussmaul Theater at Frederick Community College. Sometimes they perform at the Coffman Chapel at Hood College.
For post-production, I would usually master the audio in Pro Tools or Wavelab, although recently I’ve used Logic Pro or Cockos Reaper. At first, I edited the video using Adobe Premiere, but I’ve been using DaVinci Resolve for a few years now. All graphics/titles are created using Photoshop, and animated in Fusion. The final product would be published to CD (using Wavelab), DVD, or Blu-Ray (using Adobe Encore). I also design the disc labels and sleeves using Photoshop.
In 2020, when all venues closed to live audiences, the FSO began streaming prerecorded performances. I assisted them in recording small ensembles (mostly strings) for publication.
